Sacramento
Regional Family Justice Center
Training & Professional Development
ANNUAL REPORT 2025
In 2025, the Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center strengthened community
response through training and workforce development. We conducted three 56-Hour
Domestic Violence Advocacy Trainings, which meet California Evidence Code §1037.1
requirements, equipping professionals with skills in trauma-informed care, danger
assessment, strangulation awareness, and legal advocacy.
We also trained multidisciplinary partners locally, statewide, and nationally,
strengthening the network, supporting survivors, and preventing violence.

We provided multidisciplinary training to 911 dispatchers, law enforcement,
prosecutors, healthcare providers, and community-based advocates, strengthening
coordinated community responses and ensuring victims are identified and supported as
early as possible. These trainings emphasize trauma-informed care, risk assessment,
and evidence-based practices that improve both victim safety and offender
accountability.
Our team is honored to provide training in partnership with nationally recognized
organizations, including the Alliance for HOPE International’s Training Institute on
Strangulation Prevention, the California District Attorneys Association, and California
POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training). Through these partnerships, we
contribute to advancing best practices, influencing policy and protocol, and
strengthening responses to violence at both the state and national levels.
By building the knowledge and capacity of frontline professionals, we are not only
improving outcomes for individual survivors but also creating safer, more responsive
systems for our entire community.
