ANNUAL REPORT 2025
The Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center continues to provide expert witness
testimony in domestic violence cases throughout the county, supporting the court’s
understanding of the dynamics of abuse and the impact on victims.
Our team offers specialized expertise in areas such as coercive control, strangulation,
trauma responses, victim behavior, and high-risk lethality factors. During this reporting
period, our staff provided expert testimony in 24 cases, helping to inform judicial
decision-making and promote victim safety and offender accountability.
In addition to courtroom testimony, our staff are recognized leaders in the field and
contribute to advancing professional practice through training and published work. This
year, team members authored several articles for law enforcement publications,
helping to strengthen first responder awareness and improve system responses to
domestic violence.
Our team also plays a key role in national training efforts through the Alliance for HOPE
International’s Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention, further advancing best
practices and strengthening multidisciplinary responses across the country.
